The AAHA has accredited the friendly, cozy, and medically complete VCA Mainland Animal Hospital. We offer well-pet and sick-pet services for puppies, kittens, adult dogs & cats, and geriatric pets with the help of three knowledgeable and compassionate veterinarians. We provide surgeries, hospitalization, digital x-ray, ultrasound, laboratory testing, medical examinations, vaccinations, including weekly Preventative Treatment immunization Clinics, spaying, neutering, and pet dentistry care. We sell a range of treats as well as Royal Canin therapeutic pet food and Hill's Science & Prescription Diets. We collaborate closely with a number of regional animal shelters and rescue organizations, such as the SPCA.

The Animal Clinic is the oldest veterinary facility on Galveston Island and has been in continuous operation since its founding in 1936. We have a clear view of the sand and waves of the Gulf from the clinic's position, and we feel that this enables us to represent Galveston in the most suitable manner possible—in a historic home directly on the beach. The clinic received the Texas Heritage Award from the TVMA in recognition of its continuous community involvement and use of historic structures.
