In Catonsville, Maryland, there is a fully-equipped emergency hospital and referral facility for dogs and cats called The Emergency Veterinary Clinic. A veterinarian and support staff are always on duty at the Emergency Veterinary Clinic, which is open twenty-four hours per day, seven days per week. For almost 30 years, EVC has offered emergency veterinary treatment throughout the Maryland region. At first, EVC was situated in Halethorpe on Route 1, with a single veterinarian working nights and weekends to assist seriously ill and injured animals as well as the severe cases of nearby vets. EVC relocated to its current site in Catonsville in 1989. As the need for services grew, EVC expanded to become a multi-doctor practice that is open around-the-clock, every day of the year.

Since 1988, a family-owned, patient-focused veterinary surgery has served dogs and cats in Catonsville and Baltimore, Maryland.
