Dr. Denny Stachmus founded the Pleasant Valley Animal Hospital in 1971. He is a proud 1969 alumnus of the University of Illinois School of Veterinary Medicine in Urbana-Champaign and a native of Chicago. The initial office was situated on Lexington Avenue, a block away from the Altoona Hospital (now UPMC Altoona). A vision came true in 1986 when a new clinic was built at its current address of 808 Pleasant Valley Boulevard. Patients were no longer seen on a walk-in basis at the clinic; instead, they were seen by appointment. Christine Stachmus and subsequently her cousin Patty Adams joined the practice in the front office.

Pets are our passion, and keeping them healthy is our top priority. Here, we work hard to provide excellent care for pets because your pets deserve nothing less. Our mission is to treat ALL pets as if they are our own by giving them the highest quality medicine and surgery. We promise to provide exceptional veterinary service to the Johnstown area and its surrounding communities.

All domesticated pet species, including but not limited to dogs, cats, birds, pocket pets, small mammals, reptiles, and amphibians, are the focus of Cambria Veterinary Care. We do, in fact, treat chickens!

Dr. Thomas M. Dick founded Richland Veterinary Associates at its current location in 1968. Dr. Dick developed the practice until finally appointing Dr. F. Lynn Sanderson as his associate in 1980. From 1991 until Dr. Dick's retirement from active practice in 2006, the two veterinarians collaborated to advance the high standard of veterinary medicine. Now, under the direction of the business owner F. The Johnstown region is still receiving top-notch veterinary care and surgery from Lynn Sanderson, VMD, Richland Veterinary Associates.
