Alpine Veterinary Hospital, located in the picturesque, rural San Luis Valley in southern Colorado, serves six counties and is the area's oldest continuing operation. Our clinic consists of five mixed animal veterinarians and two full-service sites in Monte Vista and Alamosa. We provide medicine and surgery for livestock, equines, and companion animals.

Every day, we give life-changing services to homeless pets and horses that arrive at our shelters in need of medical care, behavior training, foster care, and the chance to find loving homes. Here's a rundown of some of our achievements in fiscal year 2020.

It's time for me to introduce myself. I'm Romy Nicoletta, DVM, a large animal veterinarian who goes above and above. I most recently purchased the Rio Cucharas Veterinary Clinic in rural Southern Colorado. I've been practicing for 12 years and have yet to work a single day.My career began in Wyoming, followed by a stint in Virginia, and now I call Colorado home. I've completed additional training in equine medicine and lameness, as well as cattle production. This is the culmination of my life's labor! Pagosa Veterinary Clinic is the oldest continuously operating practice in Archuleta County, located in southwest Colorado at the foot of Wolf Creek Pass. We are a single-doctor clinic that offers our established patients 24-hour emergency care and hospitalization, as well as full-service companion animal medicine, surgery, and boarding.In 2016, Dr. Nannette Wagner-Lockard bought the clinic. She is the fourth owner and is excited to be a part of the Pagosa Springs community. ​
