Wild Birds Unlimited

For millennia, native plants and insects have coexisted. They could be said to have grown up together. Numerous bug species have evolved to rely on specific natural plants to feed their progeny (think caterpillars). The entire process comes to a halt when you replace these native plants with unwanted ones (think turf grass). Insect populations plummet, as do the populations of birds that rely on them for food for their nestlings.
