We started out as a modest shop in Mar Vista at 4307 Centinela Avenue. Al Barnes, co-owner of the Carson and Barnes circus, intended to build his own city in 1926. The municipal hall for Barnes City was the site of Centinela Feed's future headquarters. Barnes City existed for a year before being absorbed into Los Angeles. But it was long enough for the structure to be designated as a historical landmark.
