Early on, Mud Bay offered a small selection of almost everything, including locally produced hog feed, fertilizer, hay, pop tarts, and folk art. The shop also suffered a loss. Lars, Elsa's son, joined Mud Bay as its third employee in 1989 after realizing that his mother couldn't afford for the company to fail. In 1993, Marisa, Elsa's youngest child and a recent MBA graduate from Holland, returned and joined the effort.

Oregon Feed and Irrigation relocated to its current home in Redmond's North End in 2009, just next to Home Depot. This change gave us the opportunity to introduce a wide range of supplies and feed for animals, horses, and pets. On the edge of the Old Mill District in Bend, our sister business, Oregon Feed and Pet, opened its doors in 2012. Despite not carrying irrigation systems and parts, it has a large selection of pet, horse, and cattle supplies.
