We always stopped at their pet store before heading home. Usually, brightly colored birds, attractive fish, and reptiles were on show. They had eight little boxer puppies for sale on this particular day, and holy mackerel, were they adorable! I wasn't planning on having a dog... but our youngest child was approaching the age of four. The more I considered it, the more I concluded that now felt like the ideal time to bring a puppy into our lives!
