Susan and Ira Moss have devoted their lives to studying about the requirements for maintaining the health of companion animals since since they brought home their first Akita puppy in 1980. They learned from the show ring that healthy, lively dogs with gorgeous coats are the result of high-quality diets and supplements, and that true beauty comes from inside.

When Elsa Wulff bought a little farm store in 1988, Mud Bay was born. Early on, Mud Bay sold a little of almost everything, from locally grown oysters, pop tarts, and folk art to hog feed, fertilizer, and hay. The store was housed in an 80-year-old building on Mud Bay Road, which runs west out of Olympia and spans the bottom end of Mud Bay, one of the southern arms of Puget Sound. The shop also suffered a loss. Lars, Elsa's son, joined Mud Bay as its third employee in 1989 after realizing that his mother couldn't afford for the company to fail.

My first dog was named Simon. When he was only six months old, I saved him from the pound. It wasn't until he was nine that I realized what was legally allowed to be in dog food. I was alarmed and outraged. I discovered an entirely unregulated industry in addition to deceptive labels, hazardous chemical preservatives, and nasty "ingredients."

We adore animals, and we think that doing so makes us become better people. They will do anything for us, which is one of the primary reasons we participate in Anything for Pets. Anything for Pets represents our dedication to pet owners, our company culture, and who we are as animal lovers. Being the industry pioneer in pet care, we base our choices on ways to strengthen the bond between pet parents and their animals.
