Since 1996, when the first Scales 'N Tails Store opened in Northglenn, Colorado, reptile ownership has been increasing like wildfire. We've enjoyed seeing how many people have discovered the joy and satisfaction that comes with having a pet reptile. Scales 'N Tails has been assisting reptile enthusiasts for over 20 years! We've expanded to nine locations across two states, and we're eager to keep expanding.

Matt and Cristin Gauthier, two Fort Collins, CO citizens, came up with the concept for Wagz. It was inspired by their affection for their two dogs and three cats that made up their dog and cat family. Wagz was founded on a solid basis of creative contributions, high-quality products, competent, helpful service, and their own distinct style.

Initially, we were housed in a considerably smaller structure on Howes Street, on Fort Collins' north side. In 1996, a store at 6204 South College was opened to meet our growing customer base in response to increased demand. We relocated the North store from Howes to its current position at College and Vine, slightly north of Old Town, in 1999.
