Tenji's team began their careers as curators, biologists, and exhibit designers at the Monterey Bay Aquarium, one of the world's major aquariums. Our scientific education may have taught us the biology, chemistry, and physics of aquatic design and engineering, but only the day-to-day duties of caring for a rich, diverse animal life could inspire the advances in custom made aquariums for which we are famous.

The Historic Hacienda has served several purposes, but one constant has been the sense of community.
Hacienda Hay & Feed or Wolter's Market are two names that many Carmel Valley residents recall. Our new staff sees the space as a tribute to all of the land's previous stewards. We're looking forward to continuing to honor Wolter's Market and the Hacienda Roots.

Simon was my first canine companion. He was six months old when I rescued him from the pound. I didn't find out what was legally allowed in dog food until he was nine years old. I was stunned and enraged. I discovered not only deceptive labels, hazardous chemical preservatives, and revolting "ingredients," but also a completely unregulated industry. One that is severely damaged.

After reading Dr. Billinghurst's book "Give Your Dog a Bone," I moved my Irish Wolfhounds from kibble to raw food in 1998. Megan, my female, was seven years old, overweight, low in energy, and suffering from arthritis. Her metamorphosis was very remarkable. She had shed weight in weeks, her once dull coat had a lustrous sheen, and best of all, she was back on the beach, running with all the vigor of a two-year-old and showing no signs of arthritis. Megan lived to reach 112 years old and died while lying next to my bed one night.

We're in gorgeous downtown Carmel, California, one of the country's most dog-friendly places. We wanted to develop a fun business specifically for dogs because we are lifetime 'dog people' and Carmel residents. Our shop is just next door to Doris Day's Cypress Inn and a few blocks from from dog-friendly Carmel Beach. Dogs are welcome to come in and receive lots of attention, kisses, belly rubs, and a free treat! We have everything your dog could possibly desire. From plush dog beds to lovely collars and leashes, canine clothes, interesting toys, delectable treats, and handcrafted bandanas, there's something for everyone!

Our boutique, located only steps from the beach, is a refuge for four-legged pals and their owners. We cater to all of man's best friend's and feline's needs and desires. Both pets and parents will enjoy shopping our hand-curated proprietary brand, Diggidy Collection TM, or selecting things from our restricted distribution merchants.
