Zamzows has long been renowned in the Treasure Valley as an outstanding garden and pet supply company, but few are aware of its rich past. It all started with a botched train stop in 1933, when brothers August and Carl Zamzow slipped away aboard a train from Minnesota to California. August got off the train in Meridian to get some lunch for them, but the train took off before he could get back on. August soon found jobs and planted roots after becoming stranded in Meridian. He married Carmalita House, who would eventually become known as Grandma Z.

Teddy and Willow, our Bernese Mountain Dogs, led us to open Northwest Pets in Eagle, Idaho in September 2005. We had a simple mission: to provide a superior assortment of dog and cat items in a pleasant setting, staffed by a dedicated team of experienced and helpful people who share your passion for pets.

We also understand the crippling terror of their absence. We exist to keep our families together. Sure, today's technology may be able to assist in this endeavor. But the truth is that the easiest and most successful approach to reunite us with our best buddy is still a simple tag.
