Petco is a category-defining health and wellness firm dedicated to helping pets, pet parents, and our own Petco partners live better lives.

Laura Saunders, an Inman Park homeowner who lives here with her family of rescued dogs and kittens, started Inman Park Pet Works as a "pet" project. Laura came from California and worked for the SPCLA (Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals) in Los Angeles as the Director of Companion Animal Services.

Owner Victoria Park needed to discover alternative remedies for her dog Harley's skin problems, ear infections, and allergies, so she founded Park Pet Supply in East Atlanta Village in 1999. At the time, grocery store pet food was the only option, and she realized there had to be a better way when she began investigating how nutrition might be effecting his general health (after unending frustration and vet expenses). Her research into holistic food and natural cures, as well as a change of approach, resolved his problems, and she wanted to bring better products to the community so that other people and their pets might benefit from the same life-changing experience.

DOGUROO, a full-service boarding, daycare, grooming, and training facility in metro Atlanta, debuted in May 2005. We started by offering a modest but carefully selected selection of high-quality foods, toys, and treats to our clients, and with each passing day, we witnessed more and more of the positive impact that highly nutritional, all-natural diets had on the health of the dogs who came to play with us.
