We felt obligated to protect Dexter, Pepper, and Boofy's interests in order to make up for the richness they gave us after a lifetime of consuming manufactured food and the subsequent lack of elegant aging. We quickly came to the conclusion that there must be a better way to feed them. We started putting significant amounts of genuine food into their commercially processed diet right away. We think they lived years longer as a result, and not only did their quality of life and energy grow by leaps and bounds. Our beloved 85-pound dog Boofy (Rufus) lived for sixteen years, while our 10-pound dog Pepper and cat Dexter both survived.
