These Home Amenities Are Desired by Pet Owners
Pets have become increasingly significant in home shopping. During the epidemic, more Americans have pets, and they're prioritizing their pets' requirements when renting or buying. According to a 2021 NAR study, 43% of pet owners are willing to move to accommodate their pet. According to realtor.com®, 68 percent of pet owners would pass on a wonderful home that didn't satisfy their pet's demands.
“We see tenants and potential residents making major changes to fit their pets' needs,” says Josh Hartmann, CEO of NexMetro Communities, a developer of luxury leased-home complexes.
According to a new NexMetro survey, more customers are spending more time with their dogs and want more pet-friendly amenities. The following are top pet-friendly amenities:
- Backyard fence
- Affordability
- Paths and trails
- Ample space
- Enviro-playground
People used to be happy living in an apartment with their pet, Hartmann explains. Then they wanted more space for themselves and their pet. They are focused on what they believe will improve their pets' lives.
NexMetro creates pet-friendly neighborhoods. For example, the company's Avilla Homes neighborhood in Arizona features single-family rentals with sidewalks, green spaces, and animal play places, they claim. Each detached rental home has a pet yard. Inside, hard-surfaced floors and pet doors make cleaning easier.
