The goal of a pet sitting service is to care for and maintain pets in loving households.
ARANSAS PASS, Texas (CBSDFW.COM) — Carmen Miller and Shauna Jones are both animal lovers. Working all day and finding it difficult to care for all of their animals, they saw a shortage of qualified pet sitters and decided to act. Pet Nannies of Texas was founded in March of 2021.
Jones, co-owner of Pet Nannies of Texas, said, We began this to benefit the animals and to enable the clients be able to appreciate their animals. Also, make certain that those animals are cared for rather than simply given away or dumped on the streets.
If you're working and need someone to come in for lunch, Katelyn Pattison, a pet nanny, suggests feeding them, taking your dog for a walk, and spending time with them. People rehoming their dogs because they don't have enough time and their pets aren't getting enough attention is a huge problem I notice.
People went out to acquire or adopt a dog to keep them company after the Covid-19 Pandemic broke out. When the limits were relaxed and people were able to return to work, the question of what to do with them emerged.
When their owners aren't home, Pet Nannies of Texas provide for their animals' basic requirements. The pet nannies believe that simply volunteering their services might mean the difference between an animal being abandoned on the streets and being rescued.
Many folks had rescued or purchased pets, and now that we're all back in the workforce, they're wondering what to do with their dogs. Jones stated. Who will be the one to let them out? We don't want to leave them outside because it's freezing and raining. As a result, many of them end up on the street or are given to animal shelters. As a result, we're providing them with that option.
According to Carmen Miller, a veterinarian technician and co-owner of Pet Nannies of Texas, the ASPCA reported that one in every five homes adopted a pet during the epidemic. And if they had never kept a pet before the epidemic, they had to re-adjust their routine when the outbreak ended and they had to return to work. And, especially if you adopted a puppy, this is quite difficult.
They can just provide piece of mind at times.
Michelle Koliba, a client, stated, "We have always boardinged our dogs." And when we got them home, they were constantly upset or anxious since they weren't at our place.... We found them and invited them to our home; everything is fine, and my dogs adore them.
Another client, Katy Schmidt, who is also a nanny, said, "The greatest and biggest part for me is they really love on them, which I don't feel like they do when kids go into a boarding facility." They interact with them, send me pictures, update me on their progress, and give them rewards. And I have the impression that they are well-cared for.
A part of the proceeds is donated to various animal charities and shelters.
A certification process is required of all nannies. They cover the entire coastline up to Victoria. They're also looking to expand into Houston.
More nannies are needed by Pet Nannies of Texas. If you're interested in working as a nanny, go to their website. petsittertx.com
