The Clear The Shelters initiative has helped more than 55 dogs find their permanent homes.
Dozens of Santa Barbara County residents visited local animal shelters to adopt a new pet. This is part of NBC's Clear The Shelters program, a one-day pet adoption event that aims to match every homeless pet with a family ready to provide it with a loving home.
The ceremony was eventually witnessed in person, and at least 55 animals were adopted, including 30 dogs, 17 cats, six rabbits, one guinea pig, and one rooster. Santa Barbara County Animal Services, Animal Shelter Assistance Program (ASAP), Bunnies Urgently Needing Shelter (BUNS), Santa Barbara Humane- Santa Maria Campus, Santa Ynez Valley Humane Society, and DAWG are all responsible for these animals.
