Pet Helpers takes in five stray dogs that were displaced by Hurricane Ida.
Pet Helper Adoption Center gets five displaced canines from Hurricane Ida thanks to a partnership with the ASPCA. The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals teamed up with Jefferson Protection & Animal Welfare Services in Louisiana to evacuate cats and dogs from towns devastated by Hurricane Ida. Animals were provided temporary refuge before being moved to a permanent home with Pet Helpers, where they will be adopted.
“We are proud to help with the Ida relief in any way we can,” says Pet Helpers Executive Director Melissa Susko. “Our hearts go out to the thousands of people and animals who have had their lives uprooted by this disaster.”
