Paws of War is a non-profit organization dedicated to assisting Ukrainian pets.

Paws of War is looking for donations to purchase supplies for Ukraine pets who are with their owners fleeing their home country. For more information visit pawsofwar.org.
Over 10 million people have fled Ukraine in recent weeks, many of them bringing their pets with them. As they flee to safety across the border, they will need all the assistance they can obtain for themselves and their pets.
The majority of people fled with only a few belongings and no means of caring for their pets. Paws of War has linked up with its international partners to be on hand at the border, ready to help refugees care for their dogs. They are in critical need of cash donations to fund their refugee relief activities.
The influx of refugees crossing the border has outstripped the minimal resources available, said Robert Misseri, co-founder of Paws of War. While many organizations have banded together to aid with the disaster, Paws of War has concentrated on people's pets.
For some people, their pet is their only remaining possession, and it would be tragic if they were unable to care for it or were forced to abandon it.
We're happy to be able to provide some comfort and relief to the individuals fleeing Ukraine with their pets clutched in their arms. Being a refugee with a pet makes things ten times more difficult. We shall do everything in our power to assist them.
Paws of War volunteers have been hurrying to find the badly needed goods and are rushing them to the border aid stations they've set up. They supply pet food, water, crates, leashes, toys, and crucial dog immunizations to clients who might otherwise be halted at the border.
They're also assisting with obtaining travel passports for the animals, which include the essential vaccines, so they may continue their voyage to the EU. Some refugees are asking whether they can foster their pets, or if they have made the terrible choice that they cannot care for their pets and are hoping that we can find them a good home in America. They've also helped set up an emergency animal temporary shelter near the border, which has already taken in over 50 dogs and a large number of cats.
They're looking for financial contributions to help with the humanitarian crisis and provide aid to individuals fleeing Ukraine. Getting supplies to the area has proven to be incredibly difficult, and the only choice has been to purchase them from neighboring countries. The charity stated that all funds raised will be used to assist Ukraine refugees in caring for their pets.
They are currently not collecting supplies since there is no easy method to transport them to where they are most needed, and the situation on the ground is constantly changing. Once a more permanent location for this ongoing problem is established, they aim to organize a supply drive.
Paws of War is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization that helps military people and their pets, rescues and trains dogs to be service dogs, and provides veterans with companion animals. Visit pawsofwar.org to learn more about Paws of War and the activities they offer, or to donate.
We're already running out on supplies, and we're getting a lot of pleas for assistance since the migrants are desperate, and more are arriving every day, Misseri explained. Our aim is to be at the border, providing much-needed assistance.
However, we won't be able to do it alone. We would love and appreciate it if everyone who reads this made a donation, no matter how small, to assist support the mission.
