On Thanksgiving, be cautious about what you share with your dogs.
While you may be eager to eat, many Thanksgiving dishes are poisonous to pets. Animals have a hard time digesting fatty meals like turkey skin.
While your dog may appreciate a rawhide bone, poultry bones might cause intestinal problems for your pet.
Dogs are also poisoned by festive treats like chocolate and walnuts. "If folks want to provide something unique for their pets, have them pick up a handful of particular goodies created for dogs or cats," said Douglas Kratt, the American Veterinary Medical Association's immediate past president.
Remember that some flowers and festive plants can be hazardous to pets, so choose your decorations carefully.
