Iqaluit pet owners are asked to bring their pets to an animal registration tag drive on Sunday afternoon.
Residents can register their pets with the Iqaluit Municipal Enforcement Department for free from 1 to 6 p.m. at the Iqaluit Curling Rink.
Registering pets with the city ensures that animals are safely returned to their owners when found, said Rod Mugford, chief enforcement officer.
At the same time, RainCoast Dog Rescue Society will host a free vaccination clinic for people who ordinarily cannot afford vaccines for their pets or do not have a method to get them to NunaVet, he said.
