Hundreds of shelter pets are looking for forever homes at the Rutherford County PAWS Shelter.
WZTV/MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – The Pet Adoption & Welfare Services (PAWS) of Rutherford County is in desperate need of permanent homes for scores of animals, including 60 dogs.
PAWS needs your help now more than ever, with limited staffing and scheduled maintenance that will affect many parts of the shelter.
PAWS is currently in the midst of planning for critical maintenance that will take place over the next few weeks,"explains Director Michael Gregory. Because it will limit our space and affect our operations, we are pleading with loving adopters to consider adopting a pet from PAWS as soon as possible so that we can continue to aid additional pets in need in the community.
PAWS is also contacting animal rescue organizations for assistance in finding foster homes for many of these shelter pets.
PAWS is initiating 'Operation: Clear the PAWS Shelter,a campaign to find homes and placement for the large number of pets currently at the shelter, particularly our 'long term' residents," says Lindsay Frierson, Rutherford County PAWS.
Many rescues, on the other hand, are in critical need of foster volunteers in order to continue supporting shelters like PAWS.
We'd love for our local community, Middle Tennessee, and surrounding areas to get involved by visiting the shelter, volunteering as a foster parent, or sharing information about our adoptable pets on our Facebook and Instagram pages using the hashtag #OperationClearthePAWSShelter, says the organization Frierson explained. If you're prepared to give a shelter pet a temporary home, PAWS would be delighted to connect you with one of our rescue partners!"
The Rutherford County PAWS Facebook and Rutherford County PAWS Instagram sites can be followed and used to help spread the word about this effort.
