FLORIDA'S WEST PALM BEACH Hurricane Ian displaced both people and animals.
Peggy Adams Animal Rescue League returned 57 animals from Fort Myers' Gulf Coast Humane Society on Friday. The Category 4 hurricane damaged the shelter's roof.
The trip allowed [Gulf Coast Humane] to focus on healing and helping their own community, said Peggy Adams Animal Rescue League CEO Sue Berry.
Big Dog Ranch Rescue rescued 20 dogs from a shelter and 12 from Manatee Rescue.
Peggy Adams' sick and injured cats and dogs are quarantined for two weeks
The shelter needs adoptions to rescue additional animals.
