Finding Pet-Friendly Airlines and Tips for Traveling with Pets

Increasingly, special days to honor animals have been developed. The goal of World Animal Day, which was established in 1931, is to honor all types of animal life as well as humanity's link with the animal kingdom. The date of October 4th was chosen because it is St Francis of Assisi's Feast Day.
National Pet Day was developed in 2006 by Colleen Paige, an animal welfare advocate and pet and family lifestyle specialist, to honor the joy that pets can provide to our lives.
And now there's National Love Your Pet Day, which takes place on Sunday, February 20. It's a day to show your love for your pet buddies, whether they're furry or feathered, scaled or hairy. Bring them special treats, go for extra-long walks with them, and pay more attention to them.
Pets not only capture our hearts, but they also help to general cardiovascular health by lowering cortisol, cholesterol, and blood pressure levels, according to the National Institutes of Health (NIH).
When we travel, we are increasingly bringing our pets with us. Searches for'southwest airlines pet policy' (+1,750 percent), 'united airlines pet policy' (+850 percent), and 'american airlines pet policy' (+550 percent) have all climbed dramatically in the previous 12 months, according to Next Vacay experts.
In the last 12 months, we discovered a 600 percent spike in searches for do airlines allow pets in cabin, says Naveen Dittakavi, founder and CEO of Next Vacay.

JetBlue
Small dogs and cats (except in Mint) are allowed to travel in the cabin in an FAA-approved pet carrier that fits comfortably beneath the front seat. The cost per pet is $125, and they are only permitted in the cabin. JetBlue's JetPaws program is for pet owners who are new to travelling with their pets and is aimed to provide them with the information and tools they need to travel with their pets. It's a no-cost program that can earn clients 300 JetBlue points for every flight they take with their pet.
Travelers may carry their dogs in their laps during the trip and purchase a ticket for the seat next to them where their dog's carrier can be placed.

Before you book your ticket or pack your suitcase, get your pet examined by a veterinarian to ensure that they are healthy enough to travel and that you are aware of any specific requirements, such as tranquilizers.
Meet each airline's requirements
Each airline has various requirements for flying with a pet, so do your homework before purchasing your ticket to locate the best option for your pet.
Locate an appropriate carrier.
Pets are allowed to travel in the cabin with their owners under the seat in front of them on most short-haul flights. To determine the size and type of carrier you are permitted, consult the airline's carrier size requirements. Because your pet carrier will double as a carry-on item, look for one with extra compartments to stow any items you'll need for your trip.
Bring only the necessities.
Make sure you have the correct treats for your canine companion. While they won't be able to enjoy complimentary drinks, bringing along your pet's favorite snacks will help them enjoy the ride.
