'Every pen is filled,' says the People for Pets Twin Falls Animal Shelter, which is currently at capacity.
TWIN FALLS, Idaho — TWIN FALLS, Idaho — The People for Pets Animal Shelter is seeing a spike in the number of stray dogs entering its kennels, causing the facility to overflow.
The shelter has taken in over 20 canines in only a few days, according to executive director Debbie Blackwood, and the number continues to rise. Some dogs must share kennel space due to a lack of room.
It's just hard when every pen is packed, Blackwood explained. What do we do with the next animal pet in need?
Rather than abandoning pets in the neighborhood, she advises individuals to plan ahead and schedule a time to surrender their pet in a secure location.
Individuals who are looking for their missing pet are invited to come to the shelter in person.
Don't simply phone, come and look, Blackwood said, because individuals describe things differently. The best thing is to view the animal in person, and if yours is gone, come to the animal shelter to see if it's still there.
