David Rose is still in puppy mode in this week's Pets of the Week. Fanta is just as sweet as her name implies.
JACKSON, MICHIGAN — Cascades Humane Society has several animals looking for loving forever homes, including David Rose and Fanta.
David Rose has been at CHS since July, and he's spent months wondering why he wasn't wanted while other dogs were adopted before him. He is thought to be the prettiest little man by the staff and volunteers.
At just under a year old, David Rose arrived during CHS at a critical and vulnerable moment in his life. At that age, dogs should be learning proper manners, commands, and general "dog" skills. David Rose is still a puppy with a lot of energy and may be a bit mouthy.
When there are a lot of pets, it's time to bounce around, and a leash becomes a chew toy when it's attached to him. He soon becomes overstimulated. David Rose is a brilliant dog with a lot of hidden qualities, but he requires someone who is willing to train him to unlock his full potential.
David Rose would thrive in a home without other pets or small children. Before making new acquaintances, he needs to figure out how to be the best version of himself. Are you able to provide David Rose with a caring and nurturing home?
Fanta is named after the orange pop because, you guessed it, she's orange. She's also incredibly sweet, just like the sugary drink.
Fanta enjoys laying, stretching, and rolling around to get the most out of the pets she receives. She has a beautiful motor and enjoys kneading with her paws. She's a fantastic feline.
Fanta is only three years old, but she has already been spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, and tested negative for Felv/FIV.
Cascades Humane Society, 1515 Carmen Drive, is open to the public Tuesday through Saturday from noon to 6 p.m.
Prior to adoption, all dogs and cats at Cascades Humane Society have been spayed or neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and treated for parasites. Adopters of pets are also entitled to a free wellness checkup from one of the area's 24 veterinarians.
Dog owners who want to adopt another dog must undertake a meet-and-greet with their current dog and the dog they want to adopt.
The Spay and Neuter Assistance Program at CHS has also been expanded. Vaccinations, heartworm testing for dogs, FIV and FeLV testing for cats, and dental operations are all included in the service, which is accessible for planned spay or neuter surgeries.
A Pet Food Pantry is also available at CHS to assist families in need. Cat and dog food contributions are accepted at CHS as long as the product is in its original container. Food can be dropped off behind the site near the pole barn. On the first Saturday of each month, the Pet Food Pantry is open from noon to 2 p.m.
