Britons have been advised to seek the advice of a veterinarian before purchasing pets for the holidays.

Due to shortages created by Brexit and Covid, anybody considering buying dogs and cats for Christmas should verify if they have access to a veterinarian beforehand.
The British Veterinary Association (BVA) is advocating caution following an increase in demand for veterinarians as a result of the surge in pet ownership in lockdown and the new legal obligation for Brexit health checks on food exports to the EU.
