Betty White adoption special: $17 shelter pets
SAN ANTONIO — San Antonio Pets Alive is honoring a TV legend benefiting shelter pets. This weekend is a Betty White Adoption Special.
The offer is valid from January 15 to 16. In honor of Betty's 100th birthday on Monday, January 17, all dogs and cats six months and older will be $17. Those three venues will accept adoptions.
Sylvester and Claude are two of the adoptable pets. With little use of their rear legs, these two special needs cats have a lot to offer an adoptive.
For their unique needs, Sylvester and Claude need someone who can check in with them twice a day, according to Maria Rusert, who is now fostering them. Like letting a dog out to pee. It's the same time. They're also rambunctious and playful. They're both needy cuddle bugs that want to be attached to you 24/7. So ideally, someone who is home frequently and wants to play with them.
San Antonio Pets Alive needs more fosters, volunteers, and money if you can't adopt.
Stephanie Paz Perez, public relations and marketing manager for San Antonio Pets Alive, says the organization has a foster team ready to help. Volunteers have established a network and support system where you can post inquiries. Someone like Maria is always prepared to jump in and help in whatever way they can.
