Animal Services hosts the largest free pet wellness clinic in the region.
Thanks to continuous funding from national groups like Petco Love and 24PetWatch, El Paso Animal Services will be able to vaccinate and microchip up to 1,000 pets for free.
The event is first-come, first-served, and only the first 1,000 dogs will be admitted. While visiting the drive-thru clinic, pets must remain in the vehicle; all dogs must be on a leash, and cats must be in a secure container.
Dogs will be vaccinated against parvovirus and distemper, while cats will be vaccinated against feline viral rhinotracheitis, calicivirus, and panleukopenia (FVRCP), and both will be microchipped. Vaccinations are only given to pets who are at least six weeks old. At this drive-thru event, no other pet immunizations will be provided.
"At Animal Services, we believe in assisting all of El Paso's dogs, not just those who come to the shelter. "We know that by assisting families and their dogs, we are assisting in the creation of safety nets that will allow these creatures and families stay together," said Ramon Herrera, Interim Director of Animal Services. "These pet services can be the difference between a pet having to go to a shelter or living with their family for the rest of their lives."
