After spotting the dog on Facebook, a Florida woman reunites with her dog who had been missing for months.
After nearly a year apart, a Florida lady had a happy reunion with her 16-year-old dog. Sparky has been with Lisa Raulerson of West Palm Beach for over 16 years. Sparky is a significant part of Raulerson's life, from family trips to supporting her after her husband died 11 years ago, the dog owner told WPTV.
Raulerson unintentionally left a gate open on a wet day in October 2020, and her favorite pet escaped and vanished. He was gone before we even realized it," Raulerson added. "We looked for a week or two, simply seeking for him," she told the outlet, adding that after posting fliers and giving incentives but receiving no response, Raulerson and her daughter believed the dog had died due to his advanced age. Nearly a year later, the lady stumbled upon a photo of Sparky on a Facebook post from Sunshine State Westie Rescue, which said that the dog had been picked up by animal control and had come into their care. Sparky was found as a stray, unclean, and matted, and the shelter released a photo of him. Raulerson told WPTV that she identified the dog as her own right away, phoned the shelter, and went to get him.
