A thief is caught on tape breaking into a Lubbock exotic pet store to steal a Macaw.
LUBBOCK, Texas (CBSDFW.COM) — According to Walter's World of Pets in Lubbock, a Macaw (yep, the bright tropical bird) was stolen early Thursday morning.
Brandon Hise, the manager of Walter's World of Pets, said they're urging anyone with knowledge to come forward.
I was a little taken aback and devastated, Hise remarked. Because he's a young bird, we're attempting to hunt him down and get information out. It's like if it were a small child. Everything is known to them. They're knowledgeable. They're pretty passionate if that's the correct term. They aren't used to new situations. He could be under a lot of pressure. Birds have a hard time dealing with stress. As a result, we must locate him as soon as possible.
From 3:39 a.m., the business released a surveillance video. According to the video, someone throws a heavy rock through the glass entrance and then runs into the store. The burglar wore a crimson hoodie, black jeans, and black shoes.
The face of the rock-wielding burglar was obscured in the video. Surveillance photo of Walter's World of Pets in Lubbock
