Barker Valley Trail

Barker Valley Trail is a dog-friendly, relatively easy 7.5 mile hike in Cleveland National Forest in Palomar Mountain, CA, that will take Petzooie around 4 hours to complete. You will descend on the way in and then ascend on the way out on this track. Because of the gradual gradient, an inverse hike that isn't completely strenuous is possible. It's crucial to have plenty of water because the path may get hot at any time of year. At a position 6.5 miles northwest of Warner Springs, take Highway 79 west (mile 41.9 according to the roadside mileage markers). Continue 7.8 miles up Palomar Divide Road, which is partly gravel, to the Barker Valley Spur trailhead on the left (west) side. This route may be closed during and after inclement weather. You must also display a National Forest Adventure Pass on your parked car because the trailhead and hiking route are located within national forest land.
