Pets are welcome at the University of Alabama Arboretum. The University of Alabama Arboretum is a 60-acre botanical garden in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, near the intersection of Veterans Memorial Parkway and Pelham Loop Road. The Arboretum's main focus is on Alabama's native plants and animals. The University of Alabama Arboretum is open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. every day of the week.

Hurricane Creek Park is dog-friendly, with "a rich biodiverse forest, giant sandstones, and a magnificent 1905 railroad trestle from the region's coal mining days." Leashed dogs are invited to accompany their owners on hikes, canoe trips, and creek splashing. From dawn to sunset, the Park is open.
