Dog Park Locations

Residents and visitors can take advantage of a number of programs and activities provided by Maryville Parks & Recreation. We manage ten parks that provide organized and open places for recreation, picnicking, kite flying, and children's play, as well as shelters for planned group events, birthdays, baby showers, community gatherings, and outdoor amenities.

The Maryville-Alcoa-Blount County Parks and Recreation Commission is a joint venture between the three governments, as allowed by the Inter-Local Cooperation Act 12-9-101 and 11-24-101, which provides for recreation services. The Commission was founded in 1970 and is Tennessee's first cooperative venture of its kind. The Commission is made up of seven members, two from each of the six governments and one from the general public. This is an administrative board tasked with appointing a full-time Executive Director. Employees are supervised and protected by a personnel policy manual and job categorization system, and the Commission functions under its own bylaws. There are 20 full-time employees on staff, as well as a number of permanent part-time and seasonal part-time workers.

There are numerous sports facilities (some of which are lit), as well as a pool, skate & dog parks, picnic spaces, and trails.

This Memphis dog park, located on Island Drive within Mississippi River Greenbelt Park, welcomes all canines to play off-leash.

Dr. Vicki Schneider Lake Dog Park was given its official name.

Baseball fields, an off-leash dog run, and an aquatic playground with water sprays are all part of this 16-acre park.

The park, which is located at 2599 Avery (behind the Memphis City Schools Board of Education), has two fenced-in dog areas: one for dogs over 25 pounds and another for smaller dogs. The park provides biodegradable bags for garbage disposal, however there is no water available. Vaccinations for dogs must be current.
