A huge urban park in the United States is located in Tacoma, Washington. The 760-acre (3.1-kilometer2) park features the Point Defiance Zoo & Aquarium, the Rose Garden, the Rhododendron Garden, beaches, trails, a boardwalk, a boathouse, a Washington State Ferries ferry dock for the Point Defiance-Tahlequah route to Vashon Island, Fort Nisqually, an off-leash dog park, and, most notably, an old-growth forest. It attracts around three million tourists each year. The Metropolitan Park District of Tacoma maintains and operates Point Defiance Park.

24. Chambers Bay Dog Park

South of the Bridge, near to Chambers Bay Golf Course, is an off-leash beach access area for dogs. The park is 7 acres in size, with a 1 acre off-leash section and a separate area for small, shy, and senior dogs. SUNDogs (Safe, Unleashed, Natural), a non-profit organization based in University Place, Washington, maintains and funds it.

Next to Morrison Pond, Paradise Pond Park is 9.5 acres of untouched natural land. Although there is no established trail system, there are a few unmarked routes.

The park's developed area is around 5 acres. The first portions were purchased in 1912, with more land being added until 1927.

The outer track is 1,391.7 feet long, or little more than a quarter mile (424 meters).

Point Defiance offers an excellent off-leash area as well as a separate, completely enclosed small dog area. The dog park is accessible by a scenic 5-mile drive through the park. Once you've arrived, take in the scenery while the dogs have some fun.Dec 14, 2019
