This park has new playing fields, a skateboard park, a playground, and a big outdoor swimming pool with water slide and zero-depth entry for Tacoma's east side and south end. The park's first portion, which is currently 24.55 acres, was purchased in 1950. In 1958, the first South End Pool opened.
