Shaw Dog Park is a members-only dog park that allows city pets to run free in a big space. The Dog Park is a 100' by 100' enclosed area with year-round access to water. A crushed granite surface, a lock system, pools, chairs, toys, and more can all be found in the park. Owners of dogs can visit the Shaw Dog Park's website for information on rules and regulations, as well as to join the park online.

Southwest City Dog Park (SWCDP), located in Willmore Park, is one of the city's oldest and largest dog parks, as well as the flagship dog park within the St Louis City Parks system.

In August of 2003, the Shaw Neighborhood Improvement Association (SNIA) inaugurated the Shaw Dog Park. The idea is to provide a safe and secure environment for pets to mingle and exercise, as well as to improve city living and bring neighbors together.
