Off-street parking, a bathroom structure, drinking fountains for both trail users and their pets, and a Native American heritage sculpture are all included at the trailhead.

Andy's Bark Park welcomes pets. Andy, the city's first K9 officer, is honored at the city's off-leash dog park, which is located at 11664 Dale Road. The park is around 70 acres in size, including manicured walking routes with benches, a shelter area with picnic tables, a pet watering station, pet waste disposal stations with bags, a year-round portable restroom, trash cans, and a kiosk.

WAG Farms Dog Park is a 14-acre, completely enclosed off-leash park where dogs of all sizes can exercise and socialize. The WAG Farms Dog Park Association, a group of volunteers dedicated to providing this fantastic facility for area dog owners, operates and maintains it as part of Cottage Grove's municipal park system. Lowertown Dog Park is a fenced-in off-leash facility located near CHS Field. During the construction of CHS Field, the park was completely renovated.

Canoe and riverboat rides, hiking, biking, fishing, bird-watching, and a center are all available along the 72-mile waterfront.

A forested Mississippi floodplain with a small lake and walking routes, as well as fishing and birding.
