West County & Rodota Trails

Dogs on leashes are welcome throughout Ragle Ranch Regional Park, but your pooch can take a break from her tether at the Animal Care Center of Sonoma County Dog Park, which is located within the park. Despite the lack of a separate space for small and large dogs, there is a daily 'Small Dog Hour,' with the park reserved for dogs weighing 30 pounds or less.

In west Sebastopol, Ragle Ranch Regional Park has soccer and softball fields, tennis courts, sand volleyball courts, a playground, and an off-leash dog park.

Pellegrini Family Vineyards produces distinctive, high-quality wines and operates a cutting-edge, dog-friendly winery. Pellegrini also offers friendly welcome and a beautiful tasting room.

The West County & Rodota Trails are part of a countrywide network of 1600 rail-trails maintained by the Rails-to-Trails Conservancy, a nonprofit organization working to establish a nationwide network of trails from old rail lines and connecting corridors. This "rail-trail," which was once an abandoned railroad line, is now a terrific spot to walk Petzooie in Santa Rosa! A parking lot with easy access to the West County and Rodota Trails is shown on the map below.

On West Steele Lane, dogs are allowed to play off-leash in a specified area of the park.

Dogs are welcome to romp and play in the river and on the beach at Monte Rio Community Beach, which is located on the west side of the Russian River bridge.
