Benton Airport Dog Park is a two-acre area where dogs can run, play, and socialize. During the summer, trees are strategically placed throughout the site to provide shade. The smaller dogs have their own space, while the larger dogs have their own space.
3. Sacramento River Trail
Rails-to-Trails Conservancy, a nonprofit organization working to establish a nationwide network of trails from former rail lines and linking corridors, supports the Sacramento River Trail, which is one of 1600 rail-trails supported by the group. This "rail-trail," which was once an abandoned railroad line, is now a terrific spot to walk Petzooie in Redding! The trailhead for the Sacramento River Trail is shown on the map below.

There are 80 acres of open space, as well as numerous trails that wind through open regions, shady tree-lined sections, and along the Sacramento River. A permanent shade structure with a dog and human drinking fountain is located in the parking lot. The Sacramento River Trail connects to this trail.
