Rose Valley Falls Trail

Piedra Blanca Trail is a 2.5-mile easy hike in the Los Padres National Forest that will take Petzooie about 2 hours to accomplish. This trail begins by crossing Sespe Creek, a National Wild and Scenic River, and continues through the natural beauty of the area. There are gorges along the creek, as well as the endangered California condor. A stunning fall hike is made possible by the changing colors of the trees. Because some portions of the trail are covered with thorny bushes, it's a good idea to wear pants.

At Soule Park, the Mitchell Edelson Dog Park has two separate fenced-in play areas, one for large dogs and the other for small dogs weighing less than 20 pounds. The entrance to the enclosure is double-gated, preventing dogs inside the cage from fleeing when another dog enters. There are benches, old oak trees that provide shade, and water fountains for dogs.

Rails-to-Trails Conservancy, a nonprofit organization working to establish a countrywide network of trails from former rail lines and linking corridors, supports the Ojai Valley Trail, which is one of 1600 rail-trails supported by the group. This "rail-trail," which was once an abandoned railroad line, is now a terrific spot to walk Petzooie in Ojai! A parking lot with easy access to the Ojai Valley Trail is shown on the map below.

The Topa Mountain Winery, located beneath the Topatopa Mountains, is a dog-friendly destination to swirl, sniff, and taste wine made from grapes cultivated in the Ojai Valley Region. Outdoor seats and two acres of outdoor area are available at the winery, where well-behaved, leashed dogs are welcome to join their owners.
