Bentsen-Rio Grande Valley State Park

A playground, picnic shelters, and BBQ pits are available, as well as a volleyball court and running pathways.

McAllen Dog Park is a fenced, double-gated dog park open everyday from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m., with lights provided after dark. Water fountains, chairs, a zone for small dogs under 25 pounds, trees, and waste disposal facilities are also available. Dogs must be healthy, social, up to date on all vaccines, have tags on their collars, and be under the care of their owners at all times. When not in specified off-leash locations, owners must clean up after their pets and keep them leashed.

Picnicking, a fitness walk, merry-go-rounds, and play spaces are all available in this 19-acre family park.

Ponds, pathways, sports fields, and picnicking are all available in this community park, which also houses the World Birding Center.
