Rails-to-Trails Conservancy, a nonprofit organization working to establish a nationwide network of trails from former rail lines and connecting corridors, supports the Venta Spur Trail, which is one of 1600 rail-trails supported by the group. This "rail-trail," which was once an abandoned railroad line, is now a terrific spot to walk Petzooie in Irvine! A parking lot with easy access to the Venta Spur Trail is shown on the map below.

Local dog owners love this huge, well-kept off-leash dog park. There are separate spaces for large and small dogs at this facility. There's a lot of grass here, as well as water fountains and shaded spaces. During peak hours, parking may be scarce.

Bring Petzooie to Orange County Great Park to take advantage of all the park has to offer, including the famed Great Park Balloon. The Great Park Balloon, which flies 400 feet above the ground, is one of the world's largest tethered helium balloons. Dogs are allowed in most areas of the Great Park, including the special events. The Great Park Balloon allows you to bring your dog along for the ride. All you have to do is keep your dog on a leash at all times. Picking up after your pet is easy with the bags provided.
