Downtown Albany has risen from a Dutch trade center to the Empire State's capital city, rising above the Hudson River. Discover some of America's early history by strolling through cobblestone streets.

Take a left on Mill Road immediately before the bridge to Delmar off Delaware Avenue and continue straight to the farm, returning to the Community Garden & Dog Park. This off-leash area benefits from being a little off the usual path.

The Community Garden is next to the Hartman Road Dog Park. There is an off-leash play area for dogs.

Just north of Huck Finns Warehouse and the I-90 bridge overpass is this fenced-in, off-leash park. Dogs must be friendly, up to date on all vaccines, and always under the authority of their owners. When not in approved off-leash locations, dogs must also be leashed.

Albany's Department of Recreation provides entertaining events for the entire community. Playgrounds, pools, sporting courts and fields, community centers, a skating rink, a skateboard park, gyms, and other amenities are available year-round through REC's scheduled activities and self-guided options.
