I recently lost my beloved 12-year-old cat, and my family and I were on the lookout for a new feline companion. I decided to explore a pet adoption website and stumbled upon a cat that caught my eye.
This was my first visit to the facility, and I was pleasantly surprised by the warm and helpful attitude of everyone I encountered. They patiently addressed all my inquiries, and as a result, I now have a wonderful new cat to welcome into our family.
Overview:
Orange County Animal Services (OCAS) is dedicated to upholding animal welfare regulations outlined in the Orange County Code, protecting residents and animals alike. This compassionate entity extends its services to a total of 13 contract cities and the unincorporated regions of Orange County.
Dedicated to progress, OCAS actively strives to create a secure and nurturing environment for animals and the people they coexist with. Their array of offerings includes valuable services like pet licensing, cost-effective vaccine clinics, and a convenient drive-thru pet food pantry, demonstrating their commitment to addressing diverse animal-related needs.
Moreover, OCAS is a reliable source of guidance when it comes to the responsible boarding of animals during both voluntary and mandatory emergency evacuations.
Notably, the shelter achieved remarkable success in fiscal year 2022, boasting a commendable 95% live release rate for dogs and an impressive 88% for cats. This success reflects their dedication to promoting animal adoption, reuniting pets with their owners, and finding loving homes for these animals through rescue efforts.

The people who work here, as well as the owner, are truly kind-hearted individuals. I am always grateful for their assistance. If my cats had the ability to speak, they would express their thanks as well.
Overview:
Happy Trails Animal Rescue is a non-profit organization dedicated to helping animals in the Orange, Osceola, and Seminole counties of Florida. Their primary goal is to educate and assist pet owners, with the aim of improving the well-being of animals in Central Florida and reducing the number of animals entering shelters.
This rescue operates through a network of foster families, where all adoptable dogs find caring homes with volunteer foster parents. Beyond their rescue work, Happy Trails Animal Rescue has established a community resource center offering valuable services, including free or low-cost dog training, grooming, a pet food pantry, support for veterinary expenses, and educational materials.
They also run an adoption program that allows individuals to adopt animals through straightforward adoption protocols and FAQs, application submissions, and, ultimately, welcoming a new pet into their lives. Happy Trails Farm Animal Sanctuary is another essential part of their mission, focusing on the rescue and rehabilitation of farm animals in need.

This place is lovely and clean, and the staff are fantastic. They really care about the cats' well-being and where they'll end up in the future. All the cats here seem happy and healthy. I wholeheartedly recommend this place.
Overview:
The Pet Alliance of Greater Orlando is a caring organization dedicated to animal welfare. They run two pet adoption shelters, affordable veterinary clinics, and various community outreach programs. One shelter is in Sanford, FL, while the other is a temporary home for cats in Downtown Orlando.
The Downtown Cat Shelter is a 3,000-square-foot facility that can accommodate about 30 cats available for adoption and provides services for cats surrendered by their owners. Inside, you'll find a spacious area for adopting cats, a fully equipped medical facility, a room where long-term residents can roam freely, a central hub for the foster team's activities, and a special room for cats being surrendered.
The shelter is open for adoptions from Monday to Saturday, between 12:00 PM and 5:00 PM, while surrendering your cat requires an appointment. Cat adoption fees range from $50 to $100. Every cat is spayed/neutered, microchipped, up-to-date on vaccinations, and receives heartworm and flea prevention before going to their forever home.
