When I put on Sandi's service jacket, she was aware that she had a task to complete. She gave her all to everyone she encountered every day of her life. It was fantastic to watch how happy she made other people. When I had to say goodbye to Sandi, she was just 16 years old.

A brutal act that killed Flash, a four-year-old Basset Hound, prompted the creation of the Dunn County Humane Society. In honor of him, it is dedicated to ending animal suffering. The Society was granted nonprofit status by the State of Wisconsin in December 1993.

The Chippewa Humane Association is doing an RAFFLE to collect money to support the diversity of animals that enter our doors in need of a haven to be looked after, fed, and loved until they find their forever home.
76. Rescue Outreach, Inc.
We are a team of neighborhood animal rescues dedicated to preserving animal life. Hazard and Harlan, both in Kentucky, are the locations of the shelters from which these animals are being rescued. These are mountain cities that have a LOW adoption rate and a HIGH kill rate. In order to make room for new intake, they were forced to EUTHANIZE more than 60 cats and kittens in September 2017. We came to the realization that there IS anything we can do to change things at this point. We got in touch with Starfish Animal Rescue to try and stop this awful incident. Starfish transports animals from these rural locations to secure, devoted rescues and homes in collaboration with neighborhood rescues.

80. Labrador Education And Rescue Network (L.E.A.R.N.)
Northern Illinois and Southern Wisconsin are served by the non-profit 501(c)3 Labrador Education and Rescue Network (L.E.A.R.N. ), which is run entirely by volunteers. Foster homes and volunteers form a network that communicates over the Internet and at L.E.A.R.N. activities. There isn't an adoption facility at L.E.A.R.N. From young to old, we accept and foster Labradors of ALL ages (rarely puppies). None of us are breeders.
