We take seriously the responsibility of placing our rescued animals in loving homes. We have only one chance to get it right because we are the only voice they have.

The purpose of the Montgomery County Animal Shelter is to offer animal care and protection services to the county.

Thank you for visiting the Powell County Animal Shelter, where stray animals can find new homes through adoption, rescue, reunification with owners, and other means.

As a nonprofit, we rescue animals of various species. We also keep a pet food pantry. We provide rescue, low-cost veterinary care, adoptions, and more.

To improve the human-animal bond by encouraging healthy relationships between pets and members of our community, to protect homeless animals through responsible adoptions, to care for all animals entrusted to us humanely, to promote animal welfare, and to provide humane care for all animals in our care.
