St. Sophia's Forgotten Felines, a non-profit cat rescue headquartered in foster homes in Wheaton, Illinois, was founded in late 2010 and aspires to provide the best transitional care for cats.

The only public animal shelter and control facility in the county is DuPage County Animal Services (DCAS). DCAS's goal is to safeguard the welfare, health, and safety of everyone living in DuPage County, including both people and their pets.

In the western suburbs of Chicago, Illinois, there is a non-profit, 501(c)(3) no-kill humane society called the Animal Rescue Foundation. Every year, we rescue almost 1.000 animals that are abandoned or orphaned.
