Vicksburg Animal Shelter

The City of Vicksburg Animal Shelter takes in unwanted and stray animals and works to place them in loving, safe environments.

The Mississippi Animal Rescue League (MARL), a private 501(c)3 nonprofit organization, is committed to stopping animal abuse. We are the largest full-service animal welfare organization in Central Mississippi and were established in 1969. Every year, we care for and provide basic medical treatment for tens of thousands of abandoned and unwanted animals. No state or federal entity provides general operating cash to us.

501(c)(3) nonprofit CARA (Community Animal Rescue & Adoption) is run by volunteers, board members, and part-time shelter staff. Private contributions from individuals, organizations, and fundraising initiatives enable us to operate. No money is given to CARA by the local, regional, state, or federal governments.

Our rescued animals at ARF of MS stay as long as is necessary for them to find a forever home. Throughout their stay, we strive to provide for the needs of the entire animal, paying close attention to their total care and medical requirements as well as helping them develop social skills.

A limited intake nonprofit 501(c)(3) animal welfare organization run entirely by volunteers, Copiah Animal Refuge offers temporary shelter and medical care to stray and abandoned animals until arrangements can be made for their adoption into loving homes.
