Humane Society for Southwest Washington

A small team and over 100 volunteers who are committed to the welfare of animals in need from our community and beyond carry out our programs and services, which were established in 1994.

A 501(c)(3) non-profit organization for pets founded in 1993, Second Chance Companions is committed to aiding animals in SW Washington and the Portland metro region.

A volunteer board of directors oversees the non-profit organization known as the Humane Society of Cowlitz County. Although the Humane Society does not receive funding from a local organization, it does have an animal control contract with the counties of Cowlitz, Longview, Kelso, Castle Rock, and Woodland. The Humane Society is an open admission facility that accepts strays as well as animals that have been released by their owners. These animals include dogs, cats, birds, ferrets, guinea pigs, rabbits, and other common household pets.

The mission of Valhalla Canine Rescue is to better the lives of animals through initiatives for community support, education, and rescue. We are a medically based rescue that primarily helps dogs, but we also help other animals when they need it. The majority of our volunteers are experts in a range of animal care and behavior sectors and have years of experience as animal advocates.

Kitty Kat Haven believes in offering second chances to neighborhood adult cats that have special needs or who are thought to be adoption-challenged. We assist the cats in our care in regaining their emotional and physical health by offering a clean, safe, and loving environment.
